Andrew McCarthy is definitely not doing films of the 80‘s. Andrew who is best noted for his work in “Mannequin” and the “Weekend at Bernie's” films, seems to be making his way on to more diversified roles. His current works include stage plays like “Long Days Journey Into Night” and “Death of Papa“, to the Broadway hit play “Side Man“. “Side Man”, a new comedic drama, is about the musicians who backed up the big-band greats of the 1940’s, and will feature music from the period. Andrew plays the role of “Clifford”, the son of a musician. Andrew also narrates the play. Andrew, who in these past years has been playing a friendly game of "hide and seek” with the press, seems to be making his

available to the public. He has participated in upcoming articles related to his
work in theater, and has recently appeared on one of the top morning shows “Regis
and Kathy Lee” promoting the now successful hit “Side Man”.
For those of you are out there looking for Andrew McCarthy to appear in that Oscar winning film, you may just have to wait a little while longer. And if you just can’t wait, bring that crow bar with you because, you may have to use it to pry him away from the theater where he is currently doing what he likes to do best, “quality and meaningful work“. - Mary G
